One person has died as wildfires rage across large parts of Albania, the Defence Ministry in Tirana said on Wednesday. The victim was killed in the central town of Gramsh.

Wildfires have intensified across southern Europe, resulting in fatalities and widespread evacuations in Greece, Spain, Turkey, and Albania. Firefighters are struggling to contain the blazes, battling through heatwaves and limited resources.
