The Condor Club opened on Columbus Avenue in North Beach in 1964 and is perhaps best remembered as the launch pad for pioneering topless dancer Carol Doda. It also made the news in 1983 when bouncer Jimmy Ferrozzo was crushed to death while having sex with his girlfriend, Theresa Hill, on top of the club’s mechanical piano.
