A group has stepped forward in Detroit to provide a home for the surviving family members of two children who died in a cold van.

A small pink casket rested next to a larger blue one at a Detroit church as hundreds of mourners gathered Thursday to say goodbye to two children who tragically died last week amid frigid temperatures while sheltering in a van with their mother.

A funeral was held Thursday for Darnell Currie Jr., 9, and A'millah Currie, 2, who were among five children and two adults in a van that stopped producing heat as the temperature fell far below freezing on Feb.
