"It just wasn’t sustainable to continue" - CBS head George Cheeks opens on his decision to cancel Stephen Colbert's late-night show
CBS head George Cheeks has finally broken his silence on the end of CBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Cheeks, speaking at a news conference shortly after the Paramount–Skydance merger was completed, said that there was a "significant secular decline" in the late-night advertising market as a main reason for canceling the show.
The production studio behind 'South Park' will be overseen by George Cheeks in the post-merger Paramount structure.
George Cheeks has been named Chair of TV Media at Paramount, taking formal oversight of South Park following the Skydance merger.
