Since staff started sampling again in May, they have collected 225 water samples along the Colorado River from Grand County to the Colorado-Utah border, according to CPW.
The pack has a long history since Colorado reintroduced grey wolves in December 2023. Because of the wolves repeatedly killing livestock in Grand County last year, CPW took the pack out of the wild.
Denver Water, which is Colorado’s oldest and largest water provider serving about 1.5 million people, helped finance construction of the dam and reservoir, paying about $43 million.
