Campaigners fighting against plans to expand Luton Airport have been given permission to challenge the government's decision in High Court.

The number of passengers affected is thought to be around 40,000, Simon Calder reports. Luton Airport have suspended all flights until 3pm, the airport said in a statement on X.

A group campaigning against the expansion of London Luton Airport has been allowed to take its appeal to the High Court.

Luton Airport is located in Bedfordshire, about 55 kilometers (34 miles) northwest of London. It is a hub for several low-cost airlines, including easyJet, Wizz Air and Ryanair.
