Even as President Donald Trump was announcing trade deals during a trip to Asia, there were signs of dissent bubbling back on Capitol Hill among Republicans over Trump’s use of tariffs, as the Senate voted three times this week to lift a series of import duties levied by the White House.
However, unlike those other states, Ohio leaders are required to redraw the state’s congressional districts this year. That’s because the state’s current congressional map, passed by Republicans in 2021 without any Democratic votes, only lasts for four years under state constitutional rules.
