UPS has since last year reduced its work force by 48,000 employees, the company said on Tuesday, in a cost-cutting drive aimed at bolstering profits and winning back investors.
The shipper disclosed 34,000 job cuts in operations as its chief executive is under pressure to reverse a long slump in the company’s stock price.
