A 20-foot-long Minke whale has died after it collided and nearly capsized a pleasure boat in New Jersey's Barnegate Bay on Saturday.

NEW JERSEY ( WPIX) — A person went overboard Saturday after a boat hit a whale off the New Jersey coast on Saturday. The whale was struck shortly before 4 p.m. in Barnegat Bay, according to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, and the vessel nearly capsized in the incident.

A whale has died after colliding with a boat in New Jersey on Aug. 2, resulting in one of the boat’s passengers to be thrown overboard into the Barnegat Bay.
