Another stretch of Bay Area highway is adding express lanes, where drivers with the means can pay to access their own lane and speed past traffic. On Dec. 16, 18 miles of Interstate 80 in Solano County are slated to activate tolls on an express lane in the east- and westbound directions.
After last week’s atmospheric river and a second fast-moving, spiraling storm passed through the Bay Area on Monday, cloudy skies were set to clear into the rest of the week before another brief rainstorm touches down Thursday and Friday.
The atmospheric river that hit the Bay Area Thursday morning caused a mess of a commute and left damage across the region, including flooded roadways and downed trees.
On Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that a grand jury indicted a Bay Area woman, Reshma Kamath, on Nov. 13 on several charges related to the alleged assault of a flight crew.
The departure of the rain is not expected to take with it the cold temperatures. High temperatures in the hottest spots are not expected to get past 61 degrees for the rest of the week, and overnight lows are expected to dip into the mid-40s.
