For the first time in a while, there seems to be an air of excitement surrounding Borussia Dortmund. That’s because tomorrow’s match against VfB Stuttgart will be Dortmund’s first with Niko Kovac at the helm.

The 52-year-old’s departure comes two weeks after the club parted ways with head coach Nuri Sahin following a run of just one win in nine matches, with Dortmund subsequently appointing Niko Kova c in the hotseat.

Borussia Dortmund announced the dismissal of technical director Sven Mislintat on Thursday but as reported by Sky Germany, they are yet to reach an agreement regarding severance pay. The 52-year-old squad planner had a contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2028 and on a reported salary around €1m per year, Mislintat could be entitled to around €3m.
