Israel has identified the body of a deceased hostage as Ronen Engel after Hamas handed over two bodies to the Red Cross. The second body is still being identified.

Israel said it has received the bodies of three more hostages, and Gaza officials said they received the bodies of 15 more Palestinians released by Israel.

Israel has accused Hamas of already violating the ceasefire deal by withholding the bodies of the remaining 19 deceased hostages thought to have died during or after the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023. Hamas has said the return of the remaining bodies "may take some time" due to the destruction.
