5 recalls to know about right now—cheese, ice cream and more
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars have been recalled. The ice cream bars were sold at grocery stores nationwide, including Kroger. The affected frozen product has a batch code of “25-210” printed on the top of the 3-ounce boxes.
Active alerts are in place for several products, and investigations continue into the source and extent of contamination.
In response, the deli company Supreme Service Solutions LLC voluntarily pulled its line of Boar’s Head pecorino romano cheeses as a safety precaution. Ambriola manufactures and supplies these cheeses. Boar’s Head also removed all other Ambriola-associated products, including salads and wraps.
The FDA is urging customers to toss certain brands of grated Pecorino Romano; at the same time, it escalated an existing recall of numerous shredded cheeses.
