Nets’ stronger showing still not nearly enough in loss to Timberwolves as skid reaches seven
The Nets (0-7) matched the franchise’s worst start in 10 years and are nearly halfway to the worst start in NBA history, an 0-18 skid produced by the 2009-10 New Jersey Nets. Their next chance to end the winless streak comes Wednesday at Indianapolis against the injury-ravaged Pacers (1-6).
Another one on the board. The Brooklyn Nets started decently against the Philadelphia 76ers, gradually let go of the rope, and wound up getting demolished at home in front of the fans at Barclays Center last night. They are now 0-6 on the season and things are NOT looking good.
Julius Randle had 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in his 15th career triple-double, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the winless Brooklyn Nets 125-109 on Monday night.
For a moment, the game looked like it might get away from Brooklyn. The Timberwolves opened the third quarter on a 13-5 run and built a 12-point lead with 9:08 left in the period, but coming off a 24-point loss to Philadelphia the night before, the Nets punched back.
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert's loud slam against the Brooklyn Nets was heard all over France. Many tagged the Minnesota Timberwolves as one of the top contenders in the Western Conference after back-to-back trips to the conference finals. But so far, they have yet to find a consistent rhythm.
