Pakistan's Punjab province banned most outdoor activities and ordered shops, markets and malls in some areas to close early from Monday to curb illnesses caused by intense air pollution. The province has closed educational institutions and public spaces like parks and zoos until Nov.

The Lahore district administration has banned outdoor activities to address the increasing threat of smog, as reported by ARY News reported. According to a notification issued by the DC Lahore, outdoor activities will remain suspended starting from November 11 to 17.

Punjab authorities have banned most outdoor activities and told some shops to shut early as smog-induced illnesses soar. Schools have also been closed to protect children, who are at high risk from the pollution.
