Costa Rican forward Manfred Ugalde split two sets of Dominican defenders to find forward Josimar Alcócer for the game-winning goal Wednesday in a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Dominican Republic.

Mexico held on for a narrow 3-2 victory over the Dominican Republic in its 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup opener. Mexico is currently at the top of Group A. Suriname and Costa Rica will play the second match in Group A on Sunday.

Mexico is 3-0-0 all-time against Suriname, last beating the nation in the group stage of the 2022-23 CONCACAF Nations League season. Time: 10 p.m. ET
