GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two players with Michigan ties went in the first round of Wednesday night’s 2025 NBA Draft. Michigan State University’s Jase Richardson and the University of Michigan’s Danny Wolf were taken two picks apart from each other near the end of the first round.

Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports has labeled Richardson and the Magic a "perfect" match. The Magic selected Richardson with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday night, adding yet another first rounder to the Spartans' long historic list of success.

Michigan State product Jase Richardson now begins the next chapter of his basketball career. Richardson was selected by the Orlando Magic with the 25th overall pick of the 2025 NBA Draft. He continues to follow in his father's footsteps,
