A Norwegian film about love, desire and self-discovery won top honors at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday

By Miranda Murray BERLIN (Reuters) - "Dreams (Sex Love)", a tender coming-of-age drama about a young woman's first crush on a teacher and the art of writing by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud, won the Golden Bear top prize at the 75th Berlin Film Festival on Saturday evening.

The coming of age film "Drømmer," or Dreams, by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud has won the Golden Bear, the top prize of the Berlin International Film Festival, known as the Berlinale, the festival has announced.

Whoever wins tonight, the 75th festival has been a success for first-time Berlinale director Tricia Tuttle, who took over in Berlin this year after a long tenure running the London film festival. You can follow the Berlinale award ceremony live here.

Norwegian drama "Dreams" won the top prize at the Berlin film festival on Saturday, while Australia's Rose Byrne clinched the Best Performance award, with both movies focused on women's experiences.

The Berlin Film Festival's closing ceremony is about to begin at the Berlinale Palast where competition winners will be announced. This year's festival was Tricia Tuttle's first at the helm. Events began on February 13 with a screening of Tom Tykwer's latest The Light.
