Donald Trump has announced that he will be meeting Vladimir Putin in the American state of Alaska on Friday to discuss ending the Ukraine war. It could be pivotal moment in the conflict, even though no one from Europe – including Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy – is thought to be invited to the talks.

Trump will meet Putin in Alaska to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine. But Zelensky has objected to being left out.
