What we know about Avengers: Doomsday is limited, but comic book fans are hyped to see the return of so many X-Men stars. James Marsden debuted as Cyclops back in 2000, and fans have wanted to see him return for years now. During an interview with Vanity Fair, he spoke about reprising that character years later. He said:

Marsden first portrayed Cyclops, a.k.a. Scott Summers, the leader of the X-Men team from Marvel comics who's capable of firing optic blasts, in 2000's X-Men. He reprised the role in the sequels X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), the latter of which killed off him off.

Doomsday has been “a nice little homecoming” for him. The 51-year-old actor - who starred as the hero in 20th Century Studios’ X-Men franchise from the 2000 eponymous movie until the character's death in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand - is due to return as Cyclops for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster,
