Gov. Jeff Landry is concerned that taxpayers will be on the hook for the more than $50 million owed to fired coach Brian Kelly and he wants to prevent something similar happening in the next deal.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry made it clear that LSU would not allow athletic director Scott Woodward to make the next hire.

LSU football already made one change ahead of its Nov. 8 matchup with Alabama, firing head coach Brian Kelly on Sunday. According to interim coach Frank Wilson, the Tigers won’t be making another.

Frank Wilson is focused on unifying LSU players as they look to build momentum for the final four games of the season.

LSU recently fired Brian Kelly and may owe him $53 million. Landry also expressed frustration with the buyout LSU faces.
