House Republicans are using work requirements and other wonky proposals to pretend they aren’t gutting Medicaid. But the results will be the same.

House Republicans are advancing a budget bill this week that could impose the most significant cuts to Medicaid in U.S. history.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that the proposed changes would reduce healthcare coverage for 8.6 million people over the next decade. Specifically, the Medicaid portions of the Republican 'megabill' would result in 10.
