Cooper Flagg revealed that it was difficult playing the Mavericks-Pistons game in Mexico City due to the change in altitude.
The NBA returns to Mexico City for the 15th time on Saturday with the Mavericks playing the Pistons, who are laying 7.5 points. This line has moved one point toward Dallas through Saturday. Detroit is slightly healthier but is still without the big contributions from Jaden Ivey in the backcourt.
Without Davis, the Mavericks are expected to rely heavily on rookie forward Cooper Flagg, who has shown flashes of brilliance early in his debut campaign. Flagg, along with veterans Klay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell, will shoulder the offensive workload while Dallas hopes for a quick return for its star big man.
Dallas forward Anthony Davis has strained a calf and will miss the next two games, according to a Friday evening report from Shams Charania of ESPN. The strain is reportedly low-grade, and Davis will be reevaluated following the Mavericks' games against the Pistons Saturday and Rockets Monday.
