Microsoft Corp. is planning to ax thousands of jobs, particularly in sales, as part of the company’s latest move to trim its workforce amid heavy spending on artificial intelligence.

Microsoft is reportedly planning another round of layoffs, this time targeting sales roles, following its May job cuts affecting about 6,000 employees.

Sales and marketing teams are expected to take the biggest hit. In April, Microsoft had informed employees it would be relying on third-party firms for certain sales campaigns.
