Columbia University must take a series of “critical next steps” if it wants to restore $400 million in federal funding, the Trump administration said in a letter to the school, according to The Free Press.

The Ivy League university has faced intense scrutiny from the Trump administration over its handling of pro-Palestinian student protests in 2024.

A letter outlining “immediate next steps” arrived less than a week after the administration said it was canceling $400 million in grants and contracts.

The Trump administration said Friday that it’s pulling $400 million from Columbia University, canceling grants and contracts because of what the government describes as the Ivy League school’s failure to squelch antisemitism on campus.
