Cooper's Hawk

🦅 Spotted at CFB Esquimalt! Say hello to the Cooper’s Hawk, a sleek summer visitor to southern Vancouver Island. These raptors breed locally during the warmer months before migrating as far south as Mexico and Honduras for the winter. During nesting season, it’s especially important to give them space - young hawks (called fledglings) may be learning to fly and could end up in unusual places or even grounded.
