Feeding Inferno, my male caltive bred Californian red-sided garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis) some frog and fish today! Garter snakes should be fed a varied diet to avoid obesity. These animals rarely eat rodents in the wild. Although rodents are a common food source for captive bred snakes, gaters shouldn’t be fed them as a staple. Prey such as frog, fish, worms and more along with occasional rodents would be much more natural and healthy. What’s your favourite snake? Comment below!
