An emergency warning has been issued for towns along Victoria's Great Ocean Road after thunderstorms and torrential rain battered communities and swept vehicles into the sea. Residents living in Wye River, Kennett River, Cumberland River, Lorne and surrounds were issued with the warning, urging them to take shelter away from floodwater, at about 2:30pm. Multiple cars have washed into the ocean during flash flooding in Wye River, in Victoria's south-west, this afternoon. A witness says four cars ended up in the sea after a sudden heavy downpour. Vision obtained from the area shows at least two cars being carried into the swell. At Mt Cowley, a short distance away, more than 105 millimetres of rain was recorded in just three hours to 1pm.
