Parnelli Jones was a fearless American racer who won the 1963 Indy 500 and became the first to qualify at over 150 miles per hour. Known for his aggressive style, he nearly won again in 1967 driving a revolutionary turbine car. He also conquered off-road, winning the Baja 1000 in 1971 and 1972.
