The sides of the highways were mowed all the way back to the fence line along highway 88 near the end of September. I was very glad to see that large sections were left unmowed all summer long. This is bad timing for the fall mowing as all the pollinator plants were mowed down and now is the time for peak Monarch butterfly migration. Monarchs rely on nectar plants as they migrate south. This is a great opportunity for the future to raise awareness on how mowing effects wildlife. | Native Roots O
